My Story

My professional focus is helping organizations understand and navigate Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) policies, behavior support practices, and Program Review Committee (PRC) standards.

My experience with the Arizona Department of Economic Security – Division of Developmental Disabilities provided me with in-depth knowledge of the systems, policies, and expectations that guide services across the state. I served as Program Review Committee (PRC) Chair for District East, for two and a half years where I reviewed behavior treatment plans and restrictive intervention proposals to ensure alignment with DDD policies, Article 9 requirements, the Behavioral Health Support Manual, and Positive Behavior Support principles. In this role, I also developed and delivered training for Support Coordinators and service providers to strengthen their understanding of PRC expectations and behavior plan requirements. Working with a dedicated team, we successfully brought PRC District East back to operational timeliness and compliance during my first year in leadership.

I also bring an international professional background, having worked in Mexico, Germany, Canada, and the United States in administrative and operational roles. These experiences strengthened my abilities in data analysis, systems improvement, and problem-solving, skills I now apply to workforce training and policy education in the developmental disabilities field.

I currently  work full time with a non profit in the State. as a Learning and Development Specialist, where I design and facilitate training programs for human services professionals. My instruction focuses on strengthening workforce competency in areas such as: • Positive Behavior Support • Article 9 and individual rights • Recognizing and reporting Abuse, Neglect, and Exploitation • Crisis prevention and behavioral response • Person-centered supports for individuals with developmental disabilities.

I am dedicated to improving the quality of services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Arizona. I am passionate about protecting individual rights, strengthening provider knowledge, and improving the quality of behavioral support services across Arizona.
